How Often Do You Need a Tire Rotation?

posted on

You care about your car and know it's important to have your tires rotated regularly. But how often should you rotate your tires?  Is it really worth it to rotate your tires regularly? Below we provide the answers to your questions!

Why Do You Need to Rotate Your Tires?

Rotating your tires is crucial to your vehicle's performance and safetyRotating the tires between front and rear a couple of times a year spreads out the burden so the tread can wear evenly. Uneven tread wear is unavoidable and can result in mechanical problems with the car down that road. Since the front tires usually carry a slightly heavier load, they tend to wear faster than the back tires.

The key to avoiding uneven tire wear is regularly moving each tire to a different corner of the car. This way, each tire experiences a variety of wear patterns over time and wears out at the same rate as the other tires.

How Often Do You Need a Tire Rotation?

Industry standard recommends rotating your tires every 5,000-6,000 miles. For equal tire wear, tire rotations should be performed with every oil change. However, keep in mind that each manufacturer has recommended tire rotation intervals listed in their owner's manual, dependent on the vehicle's design and purpose so be sure to refer to the manual. Still not sure? Give us a call and we’ll give you our best recommendation.

Benefits of Rotating your Tires

Rotating your tires is important because it can extend the life of your tires. It can also improve your gas mileage and ensure that your car handles in a steady manner when you need to make a sudden stop or turn.

Don't overlook tire rotation. A few minutes of tire maintenance will keep your tires wearing evenly, improving your car's handling and overall performance!
